As a Global Program Manager working in the Oncology Therapeutic Area Unit, you will be empowered to work with Global Program Teams to provide project and program management expertise and a typical day will include:

OBJECTIVES

  • Provides excellent project management in support of one or more drug development teams spanning the transition from discovery to development through to post-approval lifecycle management. Efforts lead to development of sound strategies, operational delivery and positive team dynamics
  • Provides leadership, training and mentoring for direct reports and/or junior project managers/DCs
  • Leads DDMP or TAU continuous improvement activities

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Serve as an expert in PM discipline and drug development within TAU. Ability to identify and manage stakeholder relationships including, in some instances, ability to influence senior TAU leaders.
  • Facilitate strategic project discussions. Understand drug development scenarios and dependencies, and relevant business and industry factors such that an optimal strategy can be applied to the project.
  • As a member of GPT leadership, attend and facilitate GPT and CST meetings. Partner with the Global Project Leader to ensure agendas are appropriate to enable key discussions and decisions within the team. Play a lead role in GPT governance preparation.
  • Drive development and maintenance of the Integrated Development Plan that aligns project tactics with the overall project strategy. Align GPT members on project goals and deliverables. Work with GPT members to address issues and risks associated with achieving the deliverables and ensure appropriate mitigation and contingency plans are in place.
  • Establish and maintain a high performing team and serve as a project advocate within the organization
  • Communicate project status and issues through key documents (monthly reports, timeliness, minutes, etc) to ensure accurate project information is available to the broader organization to enable pipeline and milestone decisions.
  • As needed, participate and/or lead departmental and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provides leadership, training and mentoring for direct reports and/or junior project managers/DCs

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOR, COMPETENCIES and SKILLS

Required: Proven project management experience in a major pharmaceutical and/or biotech company Strong interpersonal, organization, planning and communication (oral and written) skills. Background in a scientific discipline. Preferred: 12+ years of industry experience, 5-10 years in drug development with focus on project management, oncology experience, Graduate degree/ MBA,

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • PMP certification preferred but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Routine demands of an office based environment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • 10-30% domestic/international travel
