The Senior Manager, Global Oncology New Product Planning (NPP) reports to the Sr. Director, NPP and is part of the global commercial organization at Takeda Oncology. The NPP team is responsible for providing commercial guidance and insights to all assets in early development and representing the commercial position at key drug-development decision-making points. Working with senior NPP team members, this position is responsible for providing commercial assessments of key pipeline and external licensing (or business development) opportunities, specifically forecasting, market sizing assessments, competitive positioning and preferred product presentation.


  • Provide early market assessments and forecasts for 2-4 oncology pipeline products and BD opportunities

  • Acting as the main point of contact for external vendor, update commercial assessment tool(s) as needed and proactively seek out ways to improve assessments

  • Propose commercial strategies to support a competitive target product profile for 2-4 oncology pipeline assets

  • Drive completion of market research initiatives

  • Work closely with the NPP team to track key milestone progress across all pipeline programs

  • Serve as a member of 2-4 Global Program Teams within Takeda Oncology s early stage development portfolio ensuring strategic commercial insight and guidance to the GPTs through close collaboration with internal business partners to optimize the market value of assets

  • By accessing secondary research reports and databases, stay up to date in market developments and changes in competitive landscape for key therapeutic areas/markets and communicate updates to NPP and GPT teams

  • Serve as commercial point person and collaborate with internal colleagues to gain insights and ensure alignment across commercial teams (market access, NPP colleagues, country marketing teams, medical affairs, etc.) concerning commercial aspects of pipeline assets

  • Manage assigned budget


  • Fundamental understanding of oncology drug development process and clinical trial design

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent, advanced degree (MBA) a plus

  • Background or degree in science a plus

  • 5-7 years experience with specialty pharmaceutical marketing, market research, and/or marketing analytics, oncology experience required - Global experience is a plus

  • Forecasting experience a plus

  • Collaborative and builds strong professional relationships easily

  • Excellent organization, communication (written and oral) and facilitation skills

  • Self-motivated, builds trust easily and operates with integrity and ethics

  • Demonstrated learning agility

  • Strong history of delivering high quality, sustainable results using skills and capabilities


  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e., computers, phones, etc.)

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time

  • Carrying, handling, and reaching for objects
